This Privacy Policy describes how John Cedrick de las Alas("JC", "I", "we") collects, uses, and protects information you provide when you visit jcdelasalas.org(the "Site"). The Site is operated from Manila, Philippines.
1. Information collected
- Contact form submissions.When you send a message via the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message body you submit, plus the timestamp, your hashed IP address, and your browser's user agent. This is used only to reply to your inquiry.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to record aggregate, anonymous traffic data (page views, referrer, country, device class). No personally identifying information is stored.
- Advertising (when activated). If and when programmatic advertising is enabled, the partner network (e.g. Google AdSense) may set cookies on your device to measure ad delivery and frequency. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings or via your browser's cookie controls. See our Cookies Policy for details.
- Blog comments and accounts. The Site does not currently accept public comments and does not maintain visitor accounts.
2. How information is used
Personal data is processed only to respond to your inquiry, to operate and improve the Site, and to comply with legal obligations. Aggregate analytics may be used to inform the editorial direction of the blog.
3. Information sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be shared with infrastructure providers that process it strictly on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosting, edge delivery, analytics.
- Neon — managed Postgres database (contact form audit records, blog content).
- Resend — transactional email delivery for contact-form replies.
- Ad networks — only if and when programmatic ads are activated, named in this Policy at that time.
4. Data retention
Contact-form messages are retained for as long as needed to respond and for record-keeping, then archived or deleted. Analytics data is retained per Vercel's default policy.
5. Your rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), GDPR (where applicable), and CCPA (where applicable), you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Email jcedrick.delasalas@gmail.comwith the subject "Privacy request" and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Security
We follow industry-standard practices: TLS in transit, hashed IP storage, parameterized SQL, and rate-limited authentication. No system is ever fully secure; please contact us at the address above if you suspect an issue.
7. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective" date above. Significant changes that affect how personal data is processed will be announced on the home page for at least 14 days before they take effect.
